Wide eyed and innocent
I don’t yet know the game
Instinctual and persistent
Suddenly impervious to pain
My frozen breath is in the air
A rush of warmth as I open the door
Searching the crowd, I see her there
I’ll never forget the dress she wore
Suddenly the tempo slows

As I lose all concept of time
